Only the 20lb & 50lb come with a black plastic handle.

To find a suitable place to refill, look in the yellow pages under: "welding gas supply", "beverage supply", "paintball supply" (note: "welding gas supply will usually be the cheapest) Beware of gas supply outlets that want to "lease" you a cylinder for 30-40 cents per day. Some gas supply outlets tell you they won't fill "your" tank, because they want to leverage you into buying or leasing a tank from them. Either tell them you have a "brand new" cylinder and don't want to exchange, or tell them you will simply shop elsewhere.
Why buy a new cylinder from us?
Because we have the lowest prices anywhere. And the quality is excellent, they are constructed of nice "brushed finish" aluminum alloy and have a top quality CGA320 CO2 brass valve.

A good source for CO2 tanks

Posted by MSF on Oct 5th 2012

Received my latest CO2 tank from aquariumplants.com. I ordered a 20 lbs tank this time.
Upon receipt of the 20# co2 tank from UPS, I noticed that the tank was too light.

The tare weight (empty weight) on my 20 lbs co2 tank is 25.4 lbs. So I weighed the tank on our calibrated scale. It weighed 28 lbs.

I contacted aquariumplants.com, and spoke with Chad who was as mystified as I was. Where did all the CO2 go? According to aquariumplants, the tank left weighing 44 lbs at the time of shipment.

    The economics:
    I paid $169.99 + $6 shipping for a full co2 tank.
An empty 20 lbs tank is $118.99 + $6 shipping
    The difference: $51
I received a near empty co2 tank, but got a partial refund for the cost of filling the tank ($27).
The hazmat fees, according to chad, are figured in the cost of the "FULL" co2 tank, so I wasn't refunded the full difference.

For the record, there is no leak in this CO2 tank. It's holding pressure just fine.

    TOP QUALITY TANK

Posted by Frederick Mathiesen on Apr 27th 2012

I bought a 10# tank with the Ultimate CO2 system. It is so efficent that the needle has barely moved in a month. I have heavily planted 55 gal tank that is growing STRONGLY. I could have used a smaller tank easily in this application.

    Great Quality CO2 Cylinders

Posted by Jim on Feb 12th 2012

The three Rose Sword plants which I purchased from AP were recently removed from their pots and are now growing well, having established their roots in my aquarium's substrate.

The Milwaukee MA957 regulator I purchased from this company is a bargain, given that it includes a solenoid valve and bubble counter integrated into the MA957.

At first the low pressure gauge would not move, leading me to believe that it may have been defective, however, since that time the low pressure gauge now registers, so it must have been a stuck valve.

This MA957 regulator combined with the Aquarium Plants CO2 tank work well together.

Kudos to the people at AP, since they run a top flight operation with quality merchanise.

    Great Product

Posted by Lenny Leung on Jun 10th 2010

Item arrived in great condition and filled with co2. My only issue was customer service telling me when it would ship. I called 3 days in row and they kept telling me it would ship that day. They were very polite and professional.

    Excellent AMERICAN product

Posted by ThatPlantedAquariumGuy on Feb 21st 2010

These C02 tanks are superb. I ordered a 5lb tank and it does exactly what it's supposed to. Shipping speed was average, but the product was very well packaged. The hydrostatic test had been done in the last three months - I found this to be a nice plus.

If I ever need another, this is where I'll get it from. I'd I'd recommend this product to anyone.

    Great service, recent hydro test

Posted by Eric the Fishkeeper on Sep 12th 2008

I bought a pair of the 10-lb. cylinders a while back. Good price, swift shipping, excellent packaging. The best part is that the cylinders had a very recent hydrostatic check stamped on them...like within the previous month. I would have been happy with a test within the last half year (the test is good for 5 years).

    Ordering experience

Posted by Mark Mason on Jun 12th 2008

I had a problem with a tank being sent empty instead of full. After a few e-mails credit was given, including a few extra dollars for getting tank filled locally.I would recommend them to others.
