Anubias is a genus of aquatic and semi-aquatic flowering plants in the family Araceae, native to tropical central and western Africa. The Anubias species are well suited for aquarist of all skill levels as they are very easy to care for. They thrive when planted in the water column attached to hardscape such as wood and rock. When planting into the substrate, make sure not to bury the rhizome as this is where all its leaves and root sprout from and will tend to rot and kill the plant.
