About This Product

Purple Cabomba, Cabomba pulcherrima, is a hardy plant that has found its way into a number of planted aquariums for its pretty purple hues. Cabomba has the ability to thrive in a wide variety of water conditions. The fast growth of Cabomba also draws a number of aquarists to help keep nutrient levels and possible algae blooms under control. Found from the regions of Central to South Americas, Cabomba reproduces via cuttings. Flowers and seeds are also employed for reproduction at times by Cabomba. This lush plant will make a great backdrop in your aquarium. Several bunches are recommended for initial plantings, with individual plants being grouped closely.

    Excellent Background Plant

This plant will grow in low light but it will be hard to establish. Also, it is pH sensitive. At pH 7.5 the growth was a dark green and at pH 7.8 it started to turn yellow. The roots are fragile. Despite all these issues it is still a great plant. I recommend T5 lighting and CO2 injection though.

some parts of the product was a bit mashed since i got a 2 day shipping, however, the remaining healthy parts was still a lot more than what i paid for. they were really healthy, and some of the nodes already has roots.. i just washed it a little and planted it directly on my tank.. the company was very supportive and approachable. i got two types of this plant, the violet cabomba and this green one. everything was lovely..

I just got my order in today and wow, the plants looked awesome. This particular one looks like downy soft smoke on a stem, Color is fantastic and there was branching too. My fish love it. I'll only be ordering from here from now on and hitting the local pet stores to promote you guys. I had 2 day air shipping too, was a little nervous, but no dead plants.

Plentiful lush-looking bunch. Beautiful, richly colored and fast growing. Thrives in moving water. Grows thicker in lower lighting.

I have a ten gallon tank with a fifteen watt lighting, a 20 gallon with 65 watts, and a 55 gallon with 112 watts, all with CO2 injection and employing pellet spot fertlization. In all three tanks the plant looks orange, just as in the picture above. It is not green. Sometimes near the top of the tank, under 65 watts of lighting, it can also become a bright reddish color. It also requires constant pruning as it is a very hardy plant and very fast growing.
