About This Product

Cryptocoryne pontederiifolia counts among the most often kept cryptocorynes. A shady place is adequate, however, slightly illuminated specimens will attain a greater growth height compared to plants cultivated under intensive light. The species feels most comfortable in soft to medium-hard, weak acid to neutral water. Pontederiifolia prospers in temperatures between 18 and 28 degrees C, with the optimum range between 22 and 25. Pontederiifolia belongs to the medium-sized cryptocorynes, and should be planted as a group.

    Beautiful full leaves

I love this plant. It started producing new growth within 3 days of planting in my tank. None of my plants from this seller experienced any melt, but this plant really stole my attention. It is gorgeous, and the leaves are big and full. LOVE this plant

    pretty, low-maintenance plant

An easy plant to grow, hardy and seemed less subject to "crypt melt" than other crypt varieties I've used. Survived shipping with no problem. Takes a little while to really get going, but once it does it can form a pretty sizable stand of plants. Mine were 10-12" under medium-high lighting. Nice leaf structure - looks almost more like an anubia than a crypt. Because of relatively slow growth rate, can get some algae on leaves.
