Cryptocoryne retrospiralis grows over the whole area of India. Flowering specimens of C. retrospiralis are not easy to distinguish from C. spiralis as both have similar, stiff leaves. The spatha however is quite different. The difference between C. retrospiralis and C. crispatula is that the latter has often narrower, often undulated, leaves. Further, the two plants differ in the markings on the limb of the spathe. The typical monsoon leaves in C. retrospiralis (the chives form leaves) are also found in C. crispatula. Though this plant is known for more than 150 years, little is known on the variation in this species.

    Great plant!

Came in very healthy looking despite a bit of decay on top parts of the leaves. Would definitely order again. Pretty colors! A bit smaller than expected, but hopefully they will grow (:

a bit melted/100 degree shipping date

Posted by Brad Darnell on Jul 19th 2012

Mine melted a bit but I think it will recover. It was 100 outside when UPS brought package and the heat was radiating out from the box when opening. Not the fault of aquariumplants.com was just so hot. Would have been a nice plant had it not been so hot. All other plants did okay so 4 stars despite.
