They are the perennials of the water garden (many varieties are also used as perennials in the regular landscape). Plant hardy marginal plants in heavy pots and submerge them around the edge of the water garden for the desired look. Most hardy marginal plants are used for their foliage, but several varieties are also great bloomers.
