Grows from a thick rhizome that creeps over logs and rocks attaching itself as it goes. When new plantlets form on old leaves you can remove them, when they are large enough (about 3") and attach them to new places with rubber bands or fine fishing line until they take root. Very easy to grow...does not need much light.

Ordered three bunches...two were okay with probably three 6"-8" leaves, the third only had two, about 4" each. They are healthy though, so should do well.
I bought 1 quantity and it came with 2 plants. Each plant has 2 healthy looking 6~10 inch leaves.
Nice sized plant, very healthy.
the only plant from all plants I ordered from aquariumplants.com came in good condition full of color very satisfied with it . I will recommend to buy it to everyone
I don't know if it's a coincidence that this plant is showing "Out of Stock" right after I received my order, but I ordered 2 of these plants. I can't believe this is $9 worth of plants. Each "plant" has 1 or 2 leaves and is VERY small. All of the other plants I received were much larger. Would not order these again.
Edit: Was able to contact a representative and they are sending a replacement. Will update this review once received!
Purchased a Java fern mat in January 2009 for $16.99.
Today, some years later, they fill most of our aquariums.
Best aquatic plant ever!
Recieved next day air by UPS and wow it is much larger than I expected. A very nice plant for the price. I attached to a large rock with fishing line and expect it to do very well. Really nice for the money spent they included a smaller 2nd plant for free.
Ordered on Fri. received on Tues. in excellent shape. Good green color no brown, just great quality plants. I really cant say enough good about the specimens that I received!
Good plant - has developed several baby plants already in the few months I've had it. It does tend to collect algae while the other plants in my tank do not.
The java fern received were all very healthy, green with no browning/blackening. They are good size too, perhaps 8" leaves.
