About This Product

The leaves grow in opposite pairs on a long stem. The old stem will then grow side sprouts. Needs plenty of light. Give ample amounts of iron, the leaves will then show a deeper red.

    Starting to look nice

Posted by Unknown on Mar 20th 2012

I received this about a week and a half ago. I was confused at first when it came in with round green leaves, but now that is has been under high light w/ CO2 and macro/micro dosing, it is beginning to grow orange/red long needle shaped leaves like I wanted. It is going to look great as a nice midground contrast plant in my aquascape. It does grow rather quickly under the conditions in my tank, as it has grown a good 1.5-2 inches in the week and a half that I've had it, so it will likely require weekly/every 2 weeks.

    Does not ship well

This is not really a review of the plant per se, rather its probably best not to order this plant second day air if you can avoid it. 03/2011 - i ordered another plant. Be aware that under high light and CO2 that this plant looks incredibly different from shown. It will come as a green, round leafed plant. When it starts to grow out it is very red and has quite narrow leaves.

    not good, not bad

I bought 9 bunches of Ludwigia Arcuata, which arrived today. 4 of the bunches were great, 2 were so-so, and 3 were basically mush. Keep in mind I paid for next day air (shipping was prompt). 2/3 of the stems were emersed growth and the other 1/3 was immersed, so be prepared to see round leaves. Also check for spirogyra algae. I did an excel bath prior to planting. Overall, I had enough to plant in my two tanks.
