Ordered two bunches, plants arrived next day in perfect condition. Planted them in my 75 gallon tank, plain gravel with a laterite base and only medium lighting, I have been dosing the tank daily with Flourish Excel and bi-weekly with Flourish and Flourish Trace, After a week they have already begun producing beautiful new reddish, purple leaves. Great plants and a great company

    easy to grow red plant

Posted by Kimberly Hill on Nov 11th 2012

I bought two bunches of this plant with some hesitation, as I don't have a lot of light and no CO2 system. However, the plants have taken off with no problems at all. I received about 14 plants that were about 6" tall; all healthy. They adapted very quickly and have grown well. I have divided and replanted over half of them within two weeks. The new leaves are all a nice, red color, despite the light not being overly strong. The plants were placed in an avenue in the middle right of the tank. I am surprised at how quickly they have grown and would recommend this to anyone looking for a red plant that will retain its color in moderate light. The tank is 75 gallons with four T8 bulbs that are 5000K and 6500K. I dose twice a week with Flourish and every other day with Excel. I have Eco complete substrate. The water is soft and acidic and the tank is kept at about 70 degrees.

    Great color

I did not order overnight and plants suffered damage from freezing cold. However, plants recovered after several weeks and and were showing a rich purple reddish color. Plant grows slowly in moderate light and without CO2 but grows steady and seems to be very robust. Once it reaches surface pruning becomes an issue and my plants never recovered from pruning.

    they look quite different.

I ordered right away after looking at the pic, I thought they might be smaller but the leave size is about 1.5x5 c.m and not very pink (know its about nutrient and light) as in the photo. This kind of leave is fragile so don't expect the arrival condition to be very good. Hope time can heal.

    Awesome plant!

Came in really good condition with roots shooting out all over the stem. Let it grow in my tank for a few weeks and then chopped it up and waiting for it to grow again to spread it out more. Awesome coloration!

    Beatiful but delicate

Posted by Unknown on Mar 20th 2012

I received this plant about a week and a half ago. It has a very nice red color to the underside of the leaves. Very pretty plant but I was surprised at how velvety and delicate it feels. Still, a very nice addition to my aquascape

    nice, but leaves fell off

Posted by Julie Weis on Aug 22nd 2011

These arrived in what appeared to be good shape after paying for 1 day shipping. However most of the leaves fell off after 2 days. Not sure if it was the shipping stress of what. I read elsewhere that they don't like shade, so I have made sure to put them so they get full light and I am floating a few stems in an attempt to get them to regrow. I will say that the undersides of the leaves are a brilliant deep pink and the tops are a pretty silver green , so if I can get them growing, I think I will like them.

    Very Nice Plants!!!

Posted by Timothy Haut on May 3rd 2011

The plants arrived in very good condition with 5 plants to a single order, they are 10 inches tall with nice red and green foliage. I have them in a high light tank w/o CO2 and only weekly fert, I will report back if changes need to be made. No CO2 no problem these are standing tall with new leaves everywhere, green on top and red under and after only a week there is much new growth.
