About This Product

Narrow Leaf Chain sword (Echinodorus tennelus) AKA the Pygmy Chain Swordplant. Rosette plant with 1-2 mm wide, grasslike leaves. Very prolific. Ideal groundcover plant. Color in shaded areas green, is bright light reddish. Under the right conditions, especially intense lighting, a dense and low "cushion" made of runners will form after only a short time. In aquariums over 50 cm in height, care has to be taken to ensure adequate lighting of the foreground because the delicate plants will otherwise perish. This foreground plant will quickly form a nice carpet of foliage over a fine gravel or sand substrate, which is best.

    Great Ground Cover Plant

Posted by Timothy Baxter on Jul 16th 2016

I'm very pleased with these little swords! They make the perfect ground cover plant! They were very easy to plant and my fish love the soft free flowing way they move in the tank! It's more of a grasslike plant than your average swords. I think any tank will improve it's setting with this plant! They were also healthy when I got them! Thanks again!

    Variations in sizes

The first order I received of these were as advetised and flourished forming a great ground cover. The second order were about 10" in height and unsuitable as a forground plant.
