About This Product

Nesaea pedicellata has been around for many years, although not very easy to find in the US trade. It is native to West Africa and has yellowish green colored leaves with brown stems. Nesaea pedicellata 'Golden' was discovered as a variegated sport of Nesaea pedicellata. After growing and selecting the stems a solid gold form was identified and named Nesaea pedicellata 'Golden'. Unlike its parent, Nesaea pedicellata 'Golden' is extremely eye catching with bright gold leaves and a hot pink stem.

Nesaea pedicellata is native to west Africa and is relatively easy to grow in an aquarium. It tolerates both hard or soft water and prefers a temperature between 70 and 78 degrees. It prefers medium to high lighting and a nutritious substrate. N. pedicellata 'Golden' shares these characteristics which make it a nice colorful addition to any aquarium. There are very few gold colored plants in the aquarium trade so the addition of Nesaea pedicellata 'Gold' will help aquascapers around the world to add more color and diversity to their planted aquaria.

The plant is top notch and looks like someone pays attention to detail and has taken great care in raising these plants and it really shows.

Very pleased with my purchase. I received about a dozen healthy stems, all now putting out new leaves.

I received ore than 6 stems of plants with nice yellow/gold color. It's hard to wait for all the plants back in stock but will buy again from here for sure.

Ordered a bunch recieved 6... Seemed like a very little amount but i guess its within "the bunch definition"... Every leaf was either bent, broken or had dead spots... Hoping with the small amount I received I can nurse them back to health!!

    Wonderful Color

Great quality, relatively big leaves. Absolutely beautiful yellow color and easy to grow. Looks like a beautiful flower. In some settings (all low-tech) may be overgrown by other plants.

    Looks a bit different

Posted by Cindy on Mar 4th 2011

I bought 5 bunches of the golden variety. The leaves are much broader than they appear in the picture and not quite as gold, probably just needs more time. Shipped overnight, next to no leaf loss but that could be due to halide lighting, 2 3/4 wpg but 25" deep tank. Seems to be thriving in just a few days. I like the contrast and it seems to match the rotala indica quite nicely color wise to balance out the tank. I recieved about 6 stems per grouping, stems about 8 " long.

Plant arrived in great shape and has the coloring just as described - light gold leaves with pink stems that really set it apart from the other plants.

    Beautiful Plant, but...

This plant was just beautiful in my aquarium. It broke up the color of all the green plants I had and made the tank look beautiful. However, my fish ate this plant completely up within a matter of days. The leaves on it are not too sturdy, the come off very easily. This isn't great for a beginner, but it is a very beautiful plant.
