Feed the roots, not the algae (like liquid fertilizers do). Used as a complete system with our exclusive AquaDurt Freshwater Substrate, we guarantee total success of your planted aquarium.
(ask our tech guys if you have the proper lighting etc.)
Aquarium plants require certain essential nutrients, besides a source of carbon (carbon dioxide), to produce and maintain green foliage and strong roots. Without proper fertilization, aquarium plants gradually turn yellow, drop leaves, and eventually die. AquaFertz: “Substrate Vitalization System” is formulated to supply plants with Macro and Micro Nutrients at your plants root zone where they belong.
AquaFertz Substrate Vitalization System helps new plants get a vigorous start and keep established plants flourishing. The Substrate Vitalizer System will replenish the nutrients in a worn-out substrate in place, making substrate replacement unnecessary.
EXTRA INFORMATION:
Here are some common misconceptions or misguided theories about aquarium plants and nutrients:
-I don’t need to add nutrients because I have fish in my tank and they produce adequate nutrients for the plants…WRONG
-I don’t need to add nutrients because I am using Eco-complete or Flourite or Laterite as a substrate…WRONG
-I don’t need to add nutrients “at the roots” because I am using a liquid fertilizer in the water…WRONG
-Rooted Aquarium plants can absorb all the nutrients they need through their leaves WRONG
-Now that my tank is looking the way I’ve always wanted it to, my substrate is running out of nutrients so Ill have to break it down and start all over .WRONG
BASIC PLANT FACTS: Why aquatic plants flourish in the wild and how we can cause them to flourish in our Aquarium Gardens
AquaFertz Substrate Pellets are specifically formulated and engineered to work as part of the AquaDurt Super Substrate System. AquaDurt Super Substrate is a fired fractured clay substrate engineered specifically to work with AquaFertz Substrate Pellets. Each substrate granule is covered with micro porous surface fractures. AquaFertz Substrate Pellets are engineered to expand between the substrate granules and also into the fractured matrix of the substrate granules surfaces after injection. This adds natural chelation and holds the nutrients tightly in place at your plants roots for a gradual timed release.
- TOTAL SUBSTRATE PELLETS
Total Pellets provide all essential macro and micronutrients for luxuriant Aquarium Plant Growth. Iron and other essential micronutrients are chelated to assure effective uptake by plants. (Total Pellets do not contribute to Phosphate levels.)
Directions: Inject one pellet under a single plant or group of plants within an area of 3in by 3in square. Inject no more than 1 pellet per each 3in by 3in area of aquarium bottom per month. Plants should be growing in at least 2in of substrate. With the injector angled at least 30 degrees off vertical, inject pellets into the substrate to about 1/2in under the plant root area.
Chemically Active Ingredients: Hydrated Magnesium sulfate, Potassium nitrate, Potassium sulfate, also trace amounts of; Cobalt EDTA, Copper EDTA, Iron EDTA, Magnesium EDTA, Zinc EDTA, Manganese sulfate, Sodium Borate, Sodium Molybdate, (Chelating Agent: Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid)
Physically Active Ingredients: Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) Magnesium Carbonate (MgCO3) Calcium Carbonate Equivalent (CaCO3) Calcium Sulfate (CaSO42H2O)
- SUPER CONCENTRATE (LIQUID)
Directions: Depending on how heavily planted your aquarium is: 1-2 drops per 10 gallons of water 1-2 times per week. If you see any signs of algae, then discontinue use.
- IRON SUBSTRATE PELLETS
Iron Pellets provide essential Chelated Iron for accelerated growth and greening of tropical Aquarium Plants. Iron is precision chelated to assure effective uptake by plants. Use Iron Pellets when plants are observed to be growing in the meristem (growth zones) but dying in older parts of the plant or when general yellowing is observed.
Directions: Inject one pellet under a single plant or group of plants within an area of 3″ by 3″ square. Inject no more than 1 pellet per each 3″ by 3″ area of aquarium bottom in 45 days. Plants should be growing in at least 3in of substrate. With the injector angled at least 30 degrees off vertical, inject pellets into the substrate to about 1″ under the plant root area. Periodically sample aquarium free water, if iron level goes over 3 ppm inject no addition pellets until iron level drops to 1.5 ppm or less.
Chemically Active Ingredients: Iron (Chelating Agent: FeEthylenetiaminepentraacetic acid)
Physically Active Ingredients: Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) Magnesium Carbonate (MgCO3) Calcium Carbonate Equivalent (CaCO3) Calcium Sulfate (CaSO42H2O)
- TRACE PELLETS
Trace Pellets provide all essential micronutrients for luxuriant Aquarium Plant Growth. Essential micronutrients are chelated to assure effective uptake by plants. Apply Trace Pellets when plants are observed to be growing well but display transparency in the leaves, blotches, spots, deformed growth, ragged edges, sclerosis (dead or clear areas between leaf veins), or other hard to diagnose symptoms.

- TOTAL (WITH PHOSPHATE) PELLETS
AquaFertz.com Total (With Phosphate) Pellets provide Phosphate and all essential macro and micronutrients for luxuriant Aquarium Plant Growth. Iron and other essential micronutrients are chelated to assure effective uptake by plants. All aquarium plants need phosphate, however, most aquarium plants get adequate phosphate from fish foods and natural water sources. Use Total With Phosphate for Amazon Sword Plants, Temple Plants an other plants known to benefit from addition phosphate. Discontinue adding additional (phosphates) pellets if algal growth is observed to develop or accelerate. .
Directions: Inject one pellet under a single plant or group of plants within an area of 3″ by 3″ square. Inject no more than 1 pellet per each 6″ by 6″ area of aquarium bottom per month in heavily planted tanks. Plants should be growing in at least 3″ of substrate. With the injector angled at least 30 degrees off vertical, inject pellets into the substrate to about 1″ under the plant root area.
Chemically Active Ingredients: Diammonium Phosphate, Hydrated Magnesium sulfate, Potassium nitrate, Potassium sulfate, also trace amounts of; Cobalt EDTA, Copper EDTA, Iron EDTA, Magnesium EDTA, Zinc EDTA, Manganese sulfate, Sodium Borate, Sodium Molybdate, (Chelating Agent: Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid)
Physically Active Ingredients: Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) Magnesium Carbonate (MgCO3) Calcium Carbonate Equivalent (CaCO3) Calcium Sulfate (CaSO42H2O)
Guaranteed safe for shrimp: Even though it contains copper, the amount is nearly immeasurable.
- PELLET APPLICATOR – This is not required but it provides a convenient way to insert pellets into your substrate without getting your arm wet.
