That’s correct, they will rid your substrate, plants, rocks, driftwood, etc of algae. And clean your glass.
What is the “A-Team”?: It’s a lethal (non-military) algae eating team consisting of Fiddler crabs & Nerite snails. They can & will become a permanent addition to your aquarium, if you desire. (Note: these snails will NOT breed/reproduce in freshwater)
FIDDLER CRABSYou won’t believe the results until you see with your own eyes !!! They literally take each and every piece of substate in their mouth, clean it, and return it. (hundreds per hour !!!) Watch one in action here.
Fiddler crabs are a perfect natural way to control algae!
The will eat the algae off your substrate.
They will not eat your plants.
They are easy to maintain.
They are very hardy.

  • Keep Rocks/driftwood and vegetation in the tank hosting Nerite Snail.
  • Temperature of water: Maintain the temperature of your tank water between 60-90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • pH of water: 6.00 to 8.50.

They will clean your glass (as well as plants) The results are with in visible minutes/hours/days. As they move across the glass, they leave a super clean path, approx. 3/4′ wide behind them. They are voracious algae eaters. They will not breed in freshwater, only in brackish water. For more info go to Nerite Snails.
