Venus Flytrap: 

Great house or office desk plant.
Dionaea muscipula, is a carnivorous plant native to subtropical wetlands of the Carolina’s.
Carnivorous plants: Plants that derive some or most of their nutrients (but not energy, which they derive from photosynthesis) from trapping and consuming animals or protozoans, typically insects and other arthropods. They’ve adapted to grow where the soil is poor in nutrients.
