About This Product

A great aquatic plant for those just beginning to keep live plants in their aquariums. This fast growing plant resembles grass and can grow above the water level. Its unstemmed leaves will grow to form dense clusters. It is an amphibious plant, and will grow either partially or fully submersed. Sagittaria is a completely undemanding plant that can withstand hard water as well as water with a surplus of organic substances. Not sensitive to temperature change, it can thrive in very poor planting substrate if given a generous amount of light. This aside, the proper water conditions would have a temperature of 72-82F, an alkalinity of 3-8 dKH and a pH of 6.5-7.5. Provide the plant with moderate lighting of 2 or more watts per gallon of full spectrum (5000-7000K) lighting.
The Dwarf Sagittaria will propagate by producing multiple runners, and may need to be replaced with new Sagittaria from time to time. It's best to use this plant as a background plant. Provides dense growth - good for spawning fish. You need to keep it trimmed so it can get light.

    MUCH more than expected

I did a schematic of what I was putting in my tank and put 10 of these on it - there were at least 20, maybe more. Awesome tall healthy plants. Very pleased.

    Lovely plant

Posted by Joshua Johnson on May 22nd 2013

This plant survived a 5 day UPS nightmare, I spent $60 on a order and lost about 95% of the order, and I waited two whole days for the package calling back and forth with UPS. The only plants to survive were the sagittaria They are looking great, can't say the same for the micro swords. I contacted AQuariumplants.com twice, more than a week ago to let them know, not a single response. so much for customer satisfaction guarantee (they claimed.) Sad part is I have a big tank and was planning on two more large orders, now I'm searching for other options. Sucks, I was very excited about them.

Ordered three of these and placed them in both my tanks. Trimmed them down in my 20g long since they were out of dwarf. Very good plants nice and green on rival, no rotting.

    Already growing

I ordered the dwarf sag. but I believe the plants I received were this species based on the length and size of the leaves. That's okay. They look great in my tank and are already starting to grow new shoots and I've only had them for four days!
