The narrow leaf chain sword (Echinodorus tenellus) features deep green, narrow leaves that are slightly curved. undemanding and beautiful. A nutritious bottom promotes growth, but the plant needs pruning to prevent it depriving plants underneath of light. Does well even in poorly illuminated aquariums, as it grows towards the light. It is a hardy and easy solitary plant for both beginners and the more experienced with quite large aquariums.

This form of Pygmy sword is NOT the compact short version you see in George farmers scapes. This version is much taller, leaves that are about 5-6” and could be a mid ground/ background plant in a nano scape. With good CO2 and ferts these will take off and send off so many runners. If you can’t get these to take off, something isn’t right in your aquarium.

    Narrow Leaf Chain Sword- Awesome!

In just one week in a new tank I already have a chain with 3 new sprouts on it. I hadn't planned on this being a carpet plant, but it may just become one on it's own.
