Red Melon sword (Echinodorus Barthii) Very pretty ovate leaves. Depending on the size of your aquarium, red melon can be used mid or back ground. Medium hardiness. Copper sensitive. Echinodorus 'Barthii' is more commonly known in the United States aquarium trade as Red Melon sword plant. Burgundy red submerged leaves are the highlight of this aquarium plant. Echinodorus 'Barthii' is one of the more compact and slower growing sword plants allowing it to be planted in midground areas of the aquarium.

    We've had ours 5 years and for the first 3 it stayed in it's original potting cage but thrived. After moving to a 55 gallon tank i released it and it is easily 8" in diameter now and the healthiest plant in the tank.

    WOW! my Red Melon arrived and it is about 8 inches in size. Really nice healthy and muture plant. Great value for the cost. Excellent plant!
